PUBG servers DOWN as Battlegrounds devs release new update

A lot of players will find themselves unable to access Battlegrounds on Steam tonight.

That’s because developers at Bluehole Inc. are performing scheduled maintenance tonight that’s going to last a few hours.

PUBG Servers will be down for around three hours, which is certainly going to eat into prime playtime for many.

It’s betters news for those PUBG fans in the UK, with maintenance beginning around 2am, and scheduled to end at 5am.

It’s never great to be locked out of a game, however, those in the United States will be much more badly affected.

“PC players, there will be a 3 hours maintenance period on our live servers starting at Mar 12 7PM PDT / Mar 13 3AM CET / Mar 13 11AM KST,” the PUBG Twitter account confirms.

Bluehole Inc have confirmed that they will be moving their current test build over to live servers tonight, so at least it will be worth it for fans at the end.

There’s the chance that this period of maintenance could be completed before the stated 3-hours, which has happened in the past.

There have been other times when the development team have needed an extra hour or two as well, so fans will want to keep checking the official social media channels for news.

Last week also saw PUBG go offline for around two hours, but didn’t provide any big changes.

However, tonight’s scheduled maintenance does include some tweaks, with each player having to update their game following the scheduled downtime.

Tonight’s patch is focused on bringing various optimisations to the PUBG server and client.

According to Bluehole Inc, this will include mitigating lag and stutter instances and alleviated frame drop and lag occurrences happening when players are pushed together.

This usually starts from the second half of a match, or in dynamic situations, like when groups of players meet in a firefight.

This should mean a smoother environment to play in, although it won’t include the new limb and vehicle penetration system.

This has been pushed back due to changes being made, so fans will have to wait to hear more about this.
