Overwatch Brigitte UPDATE: Blizzard about to drop big character reveal

Overwatch developer Blizzard is about to reveal more about upcoming character Brigitte.

Ahead of next week’s expected release date, Blizzard is holding a special Q&A on Twitter.

Fans can find out more about Brigitte’s lore by tweeting questions to Blizzard’s Michael Chu.

“Want to know more about Brigitte’s story? Lead writer Michael Chu will answer your questions in our upcoming Q&A blog. Submit your questions using #BrigitteLore.”

Fans are keen to find out if Brigitte has any cats, following subtle nods to the fabled jetpack cat character in early Brigitte teasers.

Although Blizzard is yet to announce the release date, the timing of the Q&A probably means that Brigitte will launch sometime next week.

In the meantime, Overwatch fans can check out all of Brigitte’s skins in the gallery below…

Based on previous Overwatch character releases, fans should expect the new hero to launch three weeks after entering the PTR.

Doomfist, for example, made his PTR debut on July 6, followed by a full release on July 27.

If Blizzard follows a similar pattern, Brigitte should make her PS4, Xbox One and PC debut next week.

Overwatch updates typically go live on Tuesdays or Thursdays, so expect a March 20 launch at the earliest.

Brigitte is a low-level support hero who comes with a huge hammer and shield.

Brigitte can throw repair packs to teammates and even heal allies while damaging enemies.

“Brigitte specialises in armour,” reads a Blizzard post. “She can throw Repair Packs to heal teammates, or automatically heal nearby allies when she damages foes with her Flail.

“Her Flail is capable of a wide swing to strike multiple targets, or a Whip Shot that stuns an enemy at range.

“When entering the fray, Barrier Shield provides personal defence while she attacks enemies with Shield Bash.”
