Roger Federer uniquely reveals emotions after marathon match at Indian Wells

The Swiss legend saw the start of his clash against Federico Delbonis on Saturday delayed due to rain.

And after getting back onto court last night, Federer overcame the Argentine 6-3, 7-6.

The 36-year-old took to Twitter after the match to express how ge felt with a variety of emoticons.

One depicted the rain, while the other highlighted a bowl of pasta he had of eaten for dinner before later heading to bed.

The mood lightened up on the second day of the match, as the emoticons encompassed him celebrating his win and sunshine.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports pundit Peter Fleming has been left astonished by Federer’s achievements over the past year.

He said: “It really is incredible. He had a good argument for being the greatest player of all time in 2012.

“What he has done in the last year and a bit has just been the icing on the cake.

“It’s beyond belief how he has managed to regroup. He hadn’t won a major in almost five years and had been written off by virtually everyone bar himself.

“Then he comes back to dominate the game once again. When that happens, you are a legend.”
