Ken Dodd net worth: Dead comedian dies in his house after marrying partner Anne Jones

Ken Dodd is dead, passing away at age 90. The comedian was famous for his stand up comedy. 

Sir Ken was knighted in the 2017 New Year Honours for his services to entertainment and charity.

He died shortly after marrying his partner of 40 years Anne Jones in their home.

The comic was discharged from the Liverpool Heart and Chest hospital just under a fortnight ago.

He also released a single, “Tears”, which reached number one in the UK and sold more than 1.5 million copies.

Tributes for Sir Ken Dodd have poured in from all over the world on Twitter. 

Radio and TV presenter Stephanie Hirst tweeted: “Goodnight Sir Ken Dodd. I saw him live five years ago, at one of his mammoth seven hour live shows. He was 85 then, and still at the top of his game. A true one off. RIP Doddy.”

Comic Gary Delaney called him “one of the all time greats”, and, referencing the fact Sir Ken’s shows could often last for hours, added: “The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and most of Saturday.”

Ken was well known for his red, white and blue tickling sticks.

However, he also acted, playing Malvolio in William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night on stage in Liverpool in 1971 and appearing in a 1987 Doctor Who episode.
