WWE News: Undertaker to return at Fastlane and set up WrestleMania clash with John Cena

A dream match between The Demon of Death Valley and Cena has been expected to be announced for months and it seems like the two WWE legends will start a program tonight.

Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez claims the two men will start their rivalry at Fastlane in Columbus, Ohio and continue it on RAW.

He said: “I believe the setup for The Undertaker vs. John Cena match will be at Fastlane. I don’t think they will wait for RAW with that one.”

The detailed plan is not yet certain but rumours suggest The Deadman will interfere in the Six-Pack Challenge between WWE Champion AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler and Cena.

Undertaker hinted at retirement last year when he lost an emotional match to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33.

Following his second loss at The Grandest Stage of Them All The Phenom placed his signature black jacket, gloves and hat in the middle of the ring before saluting the fans.

But Taker then teased another big in-ring comeback when he returned on RAW 25 two months ago.

He said: “The carnage began on this sacred ground of evil 25 years ago.

“I’ve taken legends and ripped them off their pedestals and thrown them in the cold dark earth.

“Stone Cold answered to the reaper, Mick Foley answered to the reaper, even my own flesh and blood Kane had to answer to the reaper.

“They all tried, they all failed.

“And now, on this sacred ground, I declare for all of those who have fallen it is truly time you rest in peace.”

Cena addressed the rumours linking him to a match against Undertaker two weeks ago on RAW and claimed the fight won’t happen.

He instead turned his attention to the Six-Pack Challenge for the WWE Championship at Fastlane and announced that if he wins the match he will defend it in a Triple Threat Match against Styles and Royal Rumble winner Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania.

But The Champ’s schedule doesn’t include any Smackdown appearances, therefore he probably won’t be winning the WWE title which is exclusive on the blue brand.

Reports suggested that Cena requested a match with WWE legend Rey Mysterio but the 16-time world champion denied the rumours.

Cena is the face of the company and is bound to have a big match at Mania which is why a fight against Undertaker looks very likely.
