Fortnite – Fans told not to do THIS by Epic Games as Battle Royale fan numbers grow

is expected to get a surge of new players thanks to the upcoming Fortnite mobile version with the sign-up for it just around the corner.

And as Fortnite is set to be introduced to a whole new set of gamers, Epic Games have issued an alert about scams to be aware of.

The official Fortnite Twitter account has sent a warning urging people to stay safe online.

The Fortnite team highlighted the dangers of going to websites claiming to offer fans ‘free’ V-Bucks.

Fortnite fans were told the best way to stay safe online is to not trust third-party websites with your account information.

They tweeted: “Visiting websites or clicking links claiming “free” Vbucks or in-game items are unsafe.

“The official Fortnite website is http://Fortnite.com .

“Guard your account information and DO NOT trust third-party websites with your account information!”

The Fortnite Twitter account also linked to a post on the Epic Games website which gives fans advice on “protecting your Epic account”.

Discussing supposed ‘free V-Buck offers’, the Fortnite team said: “We’ve seen the sites online, just like you.

“Click here, put in your username, maybe answer a survey question or two, and you’ll get as many free V-Bucks as you’d like.

“Those sites aren’t real.

“They want you to enter your account credentials into their page (enabling them to log in as you and create fraudulent charges) or else encourage you to click down a chain of advertising referrals, getting click-through advertising money for the person running the site.

“Under no circumstances are those sites able to actually grant V-Bucks. Our legal team is constantly prowling to hunt down those sites.

“If you’ve tried one of them in the past, we encourage you to change your password as soon as possible.”

They also advised fans, among other things, to check the Have I Been Pwned website to see if they have been a part of any recent data breaches.

The warning came a day before Epic Games announced the new Fortnite mobile version, which will expand the game to a huge new player base.

Fortnite mobile is heading to iOS and Android, with sign-up for the iPhone and iPad versions starting on Monday.

Fortnite mobile will look to provide the same level of gameplay currently found on PS4, Xbox One, PCs and Macs.

This will include players playing on the same map and getting the latest weekly updates.

This suggests that the Fortnite Battle Pass will also be available on this version of the game.

Which would mean that iOS and Android fans could be targets for V Bucks scams.

V Bucks are the main currency in Fortnite, and the only way to buy the current Fortnite season 3 Battle Pass is by using the in-game currency.
