Batman SHOCK: Star Trek’s Karl Urban to replace Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight?

Justice League’s Affleck is still technically the DC Extended Universe’s Batman,

While Jake Gyllenhaal is a rumoured favourite for Batman solo movie director Matt Reeves, others stars have been throwing their hats in the ring for the iconic role.

The latest is Urban, the Kiki star best known for Star Trek and Dredd.

JoeBlo revealed the fan backing for Urban, who was surprised but open to the idea of playing the next Dark Knight.

Urban said: “Oh, really? Wow. I don’t know. I haven’t really contemplated that.

“Usually the way the process works for me is I get sent projects, sent scripts and I read them, meet with the filmmakers and really on that basis choose to get involved.

“As far as Batman goes, I guess my favourite Batman movie was The Dark Knight.

“Chris Nolan is just an extraordinary director and I thought Christian Bale was a fantastic Batman and obviously with such talent like Heath Ledger that was the perfect comic book movie right there…so, I don’t know, I’m open to any and all opportunities.”

Being middle aged, with dark hair, Urban could certainly be a candidate ifAffleck choose to throw in the towel.

A release date for the Batman solo movie yet to be confirmed.
