North Korea WARNING: ‘It’s too late!’ Former diplomat warn talks with Trump CAN’T stop Kim

Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme, the former UK ambassador to South Korea warned talks between and are a “big gamble” as this could worsen relations between and the USA.

The verbal war between the two leaders sparked fears of since Donald Trump was elected in 2016.

Mr Everard said: “This is a big, big gamble. If Donald Trump holds firm then Kim Jong-un is in big trouble.

“If Donald Trump says simply no deal until you hand over your nukes, then what’s he going to do?

“If, on the other hand, Donald Trump does give North Korea the things they want, the world becomes a very different and probably more dangerous place.

“It’s far too late for a freeze. North Korea is now far too close to a deliverable nuclear device for a freeze to make any sense at all.

“For the United States to solve the problem, it has to be verifiable complete denuclearisation.”

The White House announced he will meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un by May after South Korean official Chung Eui-yong declared that Pyongyang had written to the President.

The announcement was made at the White House by South Korea official Chung Eui-yong, who praised Mr Trump’s “maximum pressure policy” during the announcement.

He stated that the aggressive stance from the Republican firebrand was responsible for achieving a diplomatic breakthrough with North Korea.

He continued to say that Kim Jong-un is “committed” to denuclearisation.

The regime leader also understands that joint military exercises between the US and South Korea “must continue”, said Mr Chung.

The announcement disclosed that Pyongyang is “eager” to meet Donald Trump. Mr Chung stated that Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un will meet by May to help achieve denuclearisation.

He added: “Kim pledged that North Korea will refrain from any further nuclear or missile test.”

Finally, the South Korean official stated that “partners around the world”, such as Japan, are eager to test the possibility of a peaceful resolution to tensions.

Mr Chung added that “pressure will continue on North Korea” until it turns its words into actions.

Donald Trump revealed that the meeting between himself and the despot leader is “being planned” in a post on social media.

He tweeted: “Kim Jong-un talked about denuclearisation with the South Korean Representatives, not just a freeze. Also, no missile testing by North Korea during this period of time.

“Great progress being made but sanctions will remain until an agreement is reached. Meeting being planned!”
