Grigor Dimitrov highlights struggles at Indian Wells

Dimitrov has made six appearances at the 1000 Masters series event, but has never made it beyond the third round.

The Bulgarian has been given a bye for the first round by virtue of the fact he’s a seeded player.

After lifting the ATP World Tour finals last year in London, Dimitrov’s form has been up and down so far in 2018.

While he is yet to find his best form at the BNP Paribas Open, Dimitrov is hoping lady luck will be shining on him this time round.

When asked whether he can do better in Indian Wells, Dimitrov told ATP World Tour: “Hopefully. That’s the key.

“I want to be the best I can and I have been unfortunate over the past few years when I had matches in my pocket.

“I guess it was just conditions.

“Hopefully I can produce some better tennis and be more consistent.”

Dimitrov however admits there are some perks about playing at Indian Wells.

He added: “You drive your own car to the courts.

“Those little details make a huge difference to us.

“You’re able to live free a little bit and in the same time come out and compete and give 100 per cent.”
