Star Wars 8 Last Jedi: Captain Phasma deleted scene reveals her REAL fate (WATCH)

Warning: spoilers ahead for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The character, played by Gwendoline Christie, managed to dodge death in Episode 7: The Force Awakens – but it’ll be miraculous if the same happens again.

In the finished theatrical edit of the film, Phasma had very brief screen-time, before appearing to be finished off by Finn (John Boyega) following a brief fight.

But a deleted scene, revealed on The Star Wars Show, sees her falling down to another platform, where she is joined by Finn and a group of stormtroopers.

Finn then reveals, in front of said stormtroopers, that Phasma was instrumental in the destruction of Starkiller Base, because she surrendered vital information.

In fear of the stormtroopers turning on her, Phasma makes the snap decision to shoot them all, before aiming for Finn once again.

It’s here that they have the “Scum”/“Rebel scum” exchange seen in the finished edit, before Finn blasts her with a cannon.

So it seems Phasma really is done for.

In an interview earlier this year, Christie expressed her disappointment at leaving the franchise – as she will presumably now not appear in Episode 9.

“In truth, I don’t know [about a return],” she told The Times.

“And that scares and upsets me because I really want to see this character explored. I’m actually very invested in the character now.”

She added: “And that’s genuine. That’s not just chat.

“It has opened up a chain of stories and events in my mind about who Phasma is.”

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is out on Blu-ray and DVD on April 9.
