Samsung unveils ‘invisible’ 4K TV that disappears when you’re not watching it

has just announced the launch of its new 4K TVs which have one very unique new feature.

Using something called Ambient Mode these latest televisions can blend into their surrounds making them appear almost invisible.

Samsung says that Ambient Mode can mimic the pattern on the wall behind the TV to create an astonishing visual effect in which the TV blends seamlessly into the wall.

Along with ending the ugly sight of a giant black screen in your home this mode also shows useful information throughout the day with headlines, traffic reports, and weather updates all making use of the display.

To add to its appeal within the home, Samsung is also including its new Near-Invisible Cable which not only supplies power but also combines the connection to output devices such as a set-top box.

Available up to 15 meters, this unique cable frees consumers from having to place their TV near data or power outlets.

Of course, this is modern TV and there’s plenty of visual upgrades to help boost the overall viewing experience.

The new Q9F QLED TVs look set to deliver stunning images and contrast through Direct Full Array (DFA) technology.

DFA uses a panel with a series of tiny zones that independently adjust colour and brightness to deliver the deepest black levels and purest whites.

Samsung is also making a big noise about the user experience of its latest tellies with the new SmartThings app set to drastically reduce the time it takes to set up a new TV.

The new Universal Guide enables consumers to navigate across supporting streaming services and live TV through one intuitive menu.

And consumers can intelligently interact with their TV and a multiple of other devices through the SmartThings app.

“With our 2018 TV lineup, we are changing the definition of visual display to Intelligent Displays,” said President Jonghee Han.

“Designed for total immersion and to enhance the daily lives of consumers everywhere, all while being incredibly easy to use, the new QLED TV lineup provides users with the best viewing experience.”

There’s no word on a UK price but don’t expect a bargain.

Samsung’s current flagship range costs over £1,500 and expect similar pricing when its revealed later in the year.
