Real Madrid outcast James Rodriguez discovers Barcelona transfer plan – Spanish claims

Rodriguez spent three years plying his trade in Spain after joining Real Madrid off the back of an impressive World Cup.

But he struggled to hold down a starting spot at the Bernabeu and that came to a head last summer.

Real boss Zinedine Zidane chose to retain Isco instead of Rodriguez, with the Colombian playmaker sent out on loan to Bayern Munich.

The latest reports from Spain suggest Rodriguez is keeping tabs on goings on in La Liga though, especially with regard to compatriot Mina.

According to Don Balon, Rodriguez has discovered that Barcelona are set to farm Mina out on loan next season.

And that’s apparently because Ernesto Valverde is yet to be convinced he has what it takes to star at the Nou Camp.

Tottenham has been touted as a potential destination for Mina, with Toby Aldeweireld to trade places with him.

And countryman Davinson Sanchez is said to have talked up a deal for the centre-back.

However, Barcelona would prefer to have Mina where they can keep a close eye on him.

And that means they want him to continue his development in La Liga with Girona.
