Luigi’s Mansion DLC for Super Mario Odyssey? Shock Switch rumours ahead of Nintendo Direct

The is kicking off later today, with Nintendo Switch fans set to hear new games announcements.

It marks the second Nintendo Direct of this year, after a Nintendo Direct Mini in January where nine new Nintendo Switch games were revealed.

Soon after that Nintendo also held another online presentation, during which Nintendo Labo was unveiled.

And today rumours are rife that Nintendo could announce a brand new Luigi’s Mansion DLC for Super Mario Odyssey that will bring a whole new Kingdom.

It’s claimed been claimed that the Luigi’s Mansion DLC will bring with it 43 new Power Moons to collect.

In a post earlier this week, Twitter account Vandal Leaks said: “New premium DLC for Super Mario Odyssey and Pokken Tournament. Mario will get 2 DLC sets in the following months. The first on april 25th includes a brand new Luigi’s Mansion based Kindom with new 43 stars for players to get.”

Vandal Leaks and Marcus Sellars were two Twitter accounts that predicted the Nintendo Direct for March 2018 before it was officially announced.

Vandal Leaks also claimed that a CG trailer for the Nintendo Switch Fire Emblem game would be revealed during the upcoming Nintendo Direct.

They initially said it would be called Fire Emblem: Elegy for the Brave but later added that the game’s subtitle “may not be accurate”.

The Twitter account posted: “UPDATE on the New Nintendo Direct on 3.8.2018.

“The subtitle we provided for the new Fire Emblem title for Nintendo Switch may not be accurate – maybe and old/ WIP naming for the game. Thuough I am confident that the game’s theme revolves around soldiers passing away.” (sic)

While Marcus Sellars had previously said that Diablo 3 is in development for the Nintendo Switch and should be out in 2019.

It remains to be seen if the Blizzard hit will get unveiled officially at the Nintendo Direct March 2018 today.

Nintendo officially announced the Nintendo Direct March 2018 yesterday, with the only game we know for sure that will be showcased is Mario Tennis Aces.

The next Mario tennis game was first revealed during January’s Nintendo Direct Mini.

The official Nintendo UK Twitter account yesterday posted: “#NintendoDirect is coming!

“Tune in on March 8th at 22:00 (UK time) for half an hour of information about upcoming #NintendoSwitch and Nintendo #3DS games, including new details on #MarioTennis Aces.”

Ahead of the Nintendo Direct Mini in January, there were rumours that a number of high-profile games could have been announced.

These triple AAA titles were GTA 5, the original Red Dead Redemption, Pokemon Switch and a new Super Smash Bros.

However, that Nintendo Direct came and went without any word on those titles. It remains to be seen if any of those games get mentioned today.
