Avengers Infinity War Bucky IS White Wolf NOT the next Captain America – CONFIRMED

Poor old Bucky has had a rough time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Steve’s oldest and best friend was tortured and brainwashed into becoming an evil assassin before ending up in a Wakandan medical lab.

His road to recovery and redemption has been continued in the end credits scenes from Captain America Civil war and Black Panther, with many fans expecting his to emerge ready to take up teh mantle of Captain America now that Steve has cast aside his shield and become Nomad.

The latest Infinity War special edition of Entertainment Weekly has blown those hopes out of the water and confirmed Bucky’s official new identity.

The new edition features multiple covers and one shows the fully recovered man previosuly known as Winter Soldier, alongside Guardins of the Galaxy newcomer Mantis.

The tagline reads: “Sebastian Stan’s rehabilitated assassin now goes by White Wolf. It’s intriguing to see a man whose memories were scrambled, wiped, and rebuilt paired with Pom Klementieff’s alien mind-reader.”

Whether the variosu unexpected duos on some of teh covers will actually share storylines in teh upcoming movie remains unclar.

What is clear is that Bucky has now become one of the most iconic Marvel characters from the Black Panther comics.

The Black Panther movie end credit scene showed Bucky waking up in Wakanda, still without his arm. T’Challa’s science whizzkid sister Shuri has been overseeing his recovery and will presumably fit the impressive new vibranium arm he is sporting in the trailers and new images.

When Bucky emerges from the hut, the Wakandans around him call him White Wolf.

Who is White Wolf and what does this mean for the future of Captain America?

Marvel hero White Wolf is one of Black Panther’s greatest allies in the comic books and his adopted brother. He wears a matching vibranium suit when they fight side by side.

The character is much more suited to Bucky’s dark jouney so far, rather than the restrictive conformist burden of being Captain America, which even the straight-laced Steve Rogers found intolerable in the end.

Howwver this seems to indicate that Bucky will now feature heavily in the upcoming Black Panther sequels rather than any future Captain America story arcs, which makes sense with Chris Evans expected to step down as Captain/Nomad after Avengers 4.
