Pokemon Go news: New Niantic update as fans take on latest 2018 event

While Trainers have been busy collecting the new bonuses and rewards available from Legendary Week, other news has also been announced.

Niantic are launching a new Pokemon Go update, containing all kinds of bug fixes.

While not everyone might have gotten it yet, dataminers have been busy seeing what it adds to the game.

The good news is that there are plenty of bugfixes coming our way in update 0.93.3 that will surely improve the game for many.

“We are seeing massive shifts in the code base, with various tracing plugins being added and removed,” the Pokemon Go Hub explains.

“More than anything else, the 0.93.3 update is dedicated to bug fixes and refactoring – the process of reworking the existing code base.”

While it’s great that a lot of little problems might be fixed, the bad news is that Niantic’s latest feature is not included.

Fans are holding out hope that they will see the launch of new single-player quests that were recently found in previous datamine effort.

While evidence of the new feature was found in an earlier version of the game, Niantic appears to have removed all mention of the new quest feature.

And unfortunately, this latest Pokemon Go update did not bring it back.

The development team may have withdrawn quests while it continues to work them, but either way, it could be a long time before we see quests in Pokemon Go.

When launched this could add a new multi-quest system to the game, complete with a greater emphasis on supporting characters.

And an in-game quest system that incorporates new characters and pre-conditions that boast increasing levels of difficulty and progress would prove very popular with Trainers.

Until Trainers find out more about Niantic’s latest feature through official channels, they can at least enjoy the new event.

Niantic have been busy conducting a Legendary clash between Raids bosses this week, with the winner effecting how the game’s next event bonuses would run.

And Having seen Rayquaza proven victorious and Groudon and Kyogre removed from Gyms, there are now new rewards to enjoy.

A new Pokemon Go event has now kicked off which will be offering special bonuses.

These will include Pokemon hatching from eggs that prefer Windy weather – Pocket Monsters like Abra, Slowpoke and Bagdon.

Raid Battles will also be affected in the same way, while Double XP rewards are also available to those who play until March 16.

The new event bonuses are available from today and will fill the void before the next Community Day.

“The ancient Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza has proven victorious!” a message from Niantic explains.

“So from March 5 to March 16, Pokémon that prefer windy weather will hatch more often from Eggs.

“But that’s not the only place you’ll see weather-enhanced Pokémon.

“Raid Battles at Gyms near you will also favor appearances by Pokémon that prefer windy weather.

“Plus, enjoy double XP until March 16—a special thanks for all of your enthusiasm and hard work!

“In need of Premium Raid Passes? Don’t forget that special boxes containing them will be available in the shop until March 11.

“Although Kyogre and Groudon have left for now, you can continue to challenge Rayquaza in Raid Battles until March 16!

“Get the most out of hatching, catching, and battling during this limited time.”
