Overwatch update: New patch notification arrives as Blizzard confirm queue fix, new skin

According to Blizzard, the latest Overwatch update is only supposed to be for the game’s servers.

However, fans are reporting seeing new patch notifications, telling them to download the new version.

This appears to have led to some fans being left out of the mix when it comes to the new updated servers.

To fix this, players need to fully shut the game, restart their console, and then log back in. They may need to go as far as to unplug their PS4, or Xbox One.

This should make it possible for everyone to join the Overwatch servers again and avoid the queues.

Here’s the latest from Blizzard support, who write: “There’s nothing to download, the update is server side.

“You need to close the game fully (restart the console, or close it from the dashboard) to get moved to the updated servers.”

Blizzard have also announced that they are given away a new Overwatch skin to everyone who logs into the game.

The free Widowmaker Kerrigan skin is available to all player who log in between now and April, and is part of the ongoing StarCraft 20 Anniversary celebrations.
