Oscars 2018: James Bond star Sir Roger Moore honoured during In Memoriam tribute – WATCH

The longest-serving actor died aged 89 in May last year, but is not forgotten by his fans and Hollywood.

Sir Roger, who starred in seven 007 movies from 1973’s Live and Let Die to 1985’s A View To A Kill was part of the Academy Awards’ In Memoriam segment last night.

Eddie Vedder performed Tom Petty’s 1999 single Room at the Top, as pictures and clips of late filmmakers, actors and more appeared on giant screens behind him.

Sir Roger’s turn saw a clip of him uttering the famous 007 catchphrase with his iconic charming grin during one of his films.

He says: “My name is Bond. James Bond.”

Other stars honoured included Martin Landau, Don Rickles and the recently deceased Bollywood star Sridevi, who accidentally drowned in a bathtub aged 54 on February 24.

As usual, there were a number of those who died last year who didn’t make it into segment, presumably due to time constraints.

This included , who directed Sir Roger in The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker, while also helming Sir Sean Connery’s You Only Live Twice.

Gilbert was even nominated for an Oscar in 1967 for directing Michael Caine’s Alfie.

Others left out included Adam West, Jerry Van Dyke, Fraiser Star John Mahoney, David Ogden Stiers and more.
