Is this a clue Eden Hazard is leaving Chelsea? Blues fans worried after Man City defeat

The Belgian was used in Antonio Conte’s ‘false nine’ system as the Blues were comfortably beaten by Manchester City on Sunday.

Hazard looked isolated and displeased throughout the game as he failed to have an impact on his side’s performance.

The away side looked lethargic and never threatened going forward.

But Conte refused to make an early attacking substitution.

Olivier Giroud was finally brought on for Willian with ten minutes remaining, and Hazard was then replaced in the 89th minute by Alvaro Morata.

And the winger’s reaction has left Chelsea fans fretting over his future.

Hazard, clearly frustrated at the tactics being used at the Etihad Stadium, did not shake hands on the touchline with Conte.

The 27-year-old stormed past his manager, looking down at the floor.

And the Italian coach has faced heavy criticism from the Stamford Bridge faithful after the defeat.

One disgruntled fan tweeted, “Watching Eden Hazard like this is heartbreaking.”

While another Blues supporter wrote, “Conte is sucking life out of Eden Hazard. He’s the reason our best player will leave this club while he himself gets his former job with a fat cheque.”

Conte has since defended his decision to bring Morata on in the closing stages.

“I tried to wait because the substitution was for Hazard,” he told reporters.

“You hope until the end that a player like Hazard can invent something in the game.

“We were unlucky in this aspect”
