Samsung just gave you a massive reason NOT to buy the Galaxy S9

The was unveiled last weekend and there’s certainly plenty to like.

This updated and fully refreshed smartphone features a swathe of upgrades over its S8 predecessor including an improved camera which takes much better photos in low light.

This new rear camera also includes a new Super Slow-motion mode which allows it to shoot video at 960 frames per second – the iPhone X can only achieve 260fps.

An upgraded processor and improved placement of the fingerprint scanner are also worthy mentions as is the new AR emoji feature.

This new technology maps out more than 100 facial features to create a 3D model that reflects and imitates expressions on a interactive caricature that looks just like the user.

The Galaxy S9 is available now to pre-order and costs £739 SIM-only but before you hit the buy button there could be a much better alternative.

Alongside the S9, Samsung has also revealed the Galaxy S9+ which not only includes a larger 6.3-inch display but also a couple of other must-have features you won’t find on its smaller sibling.

The best of these upgrades has to be the inclusion of dual-lens rear camera which finally brings the ability to add DSLR-style depth of field to your photos.

Samsung has also added the option to adjust this bokeh effect after the image is taken with something it calls Live Focus.

This is a really clever added bonus, that first appeared on last year’s Galaxy Note 8, as it gives users full control over what they have taken.

As well as this much-improved rear camera the S9+ also has more RAM tucked under the hood which should make it marginally faster than the standard S9 and there’s also a bigger battery – although this does of course have to power the larger screen.
