Paul Pogba hints at Jose Mourinho problems as tension grows at Manchester United

Pogba was in Sweden with Zlatan Ibrahimovic to open a Padel centre in Stockholm yesterday.

And he was asked about his situation with the Manchester United boss after weeks of tension at Old Trafford.

Pogba has been substituted, dropped and called in sick in recent weeks with his form in question.

But Pogba refused to shed any light saying: “I’m only here to support Zlatan and talk about Padel.”

But the France star, who joined United for £90m in 2016, was ready to discuss Victor Lindelof’s start at the club.

“His season has been very good,” Pogba told Expressen. “He shows the quality on the pitch, he has shown to the world and for all supporters what he can do.

“He is a very good player and we need him. He is a nice person off the pitch too, you must not forget that it is his first season. It’s never easy for the first year in England.

“He is a player who adapts very well. He is a quality player. He has been doing well.

“He has won big titles and played with big players already in Benfica, so he is not new to the football world.”

Pogba is understood to have concerns over his position in the team and his relationship with Mourinho appears tense.

Pogba is the club’s record signing after returning from Juventus in Mourinho’s first summer in charge.

A decent first season was followed by a good start to this one before injury and suspension curtailed his rhythm.

And since January he has struggled with Alexis Sanchez now taking much of the focus.

Pogba returned to the side against Chelsea last week in the 2-1 after starting on the bench against Sevilla and is expected to play on Monday against Crystal Palace.
