Ivanka became a government employee in March last year. However, her role is unpaid.

She and her husband live in a house in Washington, DC, and he also has a role in the US government.

In a statement made at the time Ivanka said: “I have heard the concerns some have with my advising the President in my personal capacity while voluntarily complying with all ethics rules, and I will instead serve as an unpaid employee in the White House Office, subject to all of the same rules as other federal employees.”

“Throughout this process I have been working closely and in good faith with the White House counsel and my personal counsel to address the unprecedented nature of my role.”

Hope Hicks, Donald Trump’s White House Communications Director resigned on 28 February.

Recently Ivanka Trump’s NBC interview revealed the New Yorker claiming she wasn’t sure about one of Donald Trump’s latest policies.

When questioned on the policy of arming teachers in schools Ivanka said: “To be honest I don’t know.

“I think that having a teacher who is armed to cares deeply about her students, or his students, and who is capable and qualified to bear arms is not a bad idea, but it’s an idea that needs to be discussed.”
