Fortnite update – Patch V.3.1.1 release date revealed, fixes this PS4 and Xbox One issue

players will soon be able to download patch V.3.1.1, the latest update for the hit PS4, Xbox One and PC game.

Epic Games are rolling out the Fortnite patch just a few days after releasing Fortnite V.3.0.0 – which brought with it the new Hunting Rifle weapon.

Unlike yesterday’s Fortnite update, there will no server downtime ahead of the patch being rolled out.

However, Fortnite players may need to restart the game for the update’s effects to kick in.

Fortnite patch V.3.1.1, which is set to be released on Saturday, fixes client crashes that players have been experiencing recently.

The official Fortnite Twitter account revealed the news in a post today. They tweeted: “Patch 3.1.1 is planned to release tomorrow at 4:00AM ET(09:00 GMT).

“This is to fix client crashes some players are experiencing.

“There will be no downtime for this patch, but you may need to restart for the update to take effect.”

The latest Fortnite update comes after Epic Games rolled out patch V.3.1.0 on Thursday.

The update brought with it the new Hunting Rifle weapon as well as the new Lucky Landing point of interest for Battle Royale.

It looks like the Fortnite team had been planning on releasing the new Jetpack item – which is part of – in Thursday’s update.

However, the release of this weapon got delayed due to a “last minute design issue”.

Explaining the delay in a Reddit post, the Fortnite team said: “This week’s new item is being changed from the Jetpack to the Hunting Rifle.

“We found a last minute design issue with the Jetpack that’s going to delay its launch and we’re working on correcting it.

“The Jetpack will lift off at a later time.

“Meanwhile, you’ll be able to enjoy lots of no-scopes with the new Hunting Rifle item and a new, lucky point of interest on the map.”

Fortnite patch V.3.1.1 was released after fans of the hit Battle Royale game on PC and Mac were yesterday hit by launcher issues.

Epic Games yesterday revealed around 7pm UK time yesterday that Fortnite fans on PC and Mac had been experiencing issues logging in.

They tweeted: “We’re aware PC and Mac users are having problems logging into the launcher.

“We’re looking into this now and will be sure to update you once we have more info.”

Around five hours later they said the issue had been resolved, with players able to log in “without any wait times”.
