Super Mario Odyssey DLC update: Nintendo Switch fans could be in for MAJOR surprise

Super Mario Odyssey may get even more new DLC on Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo Switch owners will be pleased to hear that Super Mario Odyssey producer Yoshiaki Koizumi has hinted at new DLC.

Speaking to Game Informer, he said: “There’s a lot of volume in Super Mario Odyssey. That was a big focus in development: give the player loads to do.

“We pushed ourselves to create as much as we could. I can’t announce anything specifically today, but of course, if there was a really cool idea for us to do, then we would certainly be thinking about DLC.”

That’s on top of new Super Mario Odyssey artwork that was spotted by The Cutting Room Floor.

The images – which can be seen in the gallery below – were discovered following the release of Super Mario Odyssey update 1.20.

It’s possible this is new hint art, which suggests more moons are on the way.

The first wave of free Super Mario Odyssey DLC was announced during a recent Nintendo Direct.

The eventual release included a new Balloon World mini game, which tasks one player with hiding a balloon while another tries to find it.

The update also added new filters for the snapshot mode, as well as new outfits for Mario.

One of the outfits is themed after Super Mario Sunshine, which was released on Gamecube back in 2002.

Super Mario Odyssey has also benefitted from the ability to leave .

Available through the Nintendo US website, fans can rate games out of a possible 5 stars and submit short written reviews.

The only catch is that you need to have a Nintendo Account to leave reviews, and must have played the game for more than 2 hours.

Account holders can also select from a series of tags to help customers make informed decisions about whether or not the game is for them.
