Fortnite launches new limited time mode – Solid Gold LTM available now on PS4, Xbox One

Fortnite players can now take part in the Solid Gold Limited Time Mode, which has launched on PS4, Xbox One and PCs today.

The new mode will see players only use legendary gold weapons in Battle Royale matches.

Announcing the new LTM today, the official Fortnite Twitter account posted: “The Solid Gold Limited Time Mode is now live! Jump in and try out some legendary weapons”.

An end date for the LTM has not been revealed, and it comes as fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Jetpack update for Fortnite.

Previously Epic Games had teased that they had tonnes of new limited time modes in the pipeline for Fortnite.

In a blog post they revealed that they had FIVE new limited time modes in the works that would be released in the space of a few weeks.

Epic Games also said that Fortnite will be getting a ‘floor is lava’ limited time mode (LTM) at some point.

The Fortnite makers said: “We’ve been hammering away at Limited Time Modes! Getting you multiple playlists (solo, duo and squads) during LTMs is at the top of the priority stack.

“We’ve been using multiple data points (including your feedback) to iterate our existing LTM’s and to build brand new LTM’s.

“We are planning to quickly spin up a dozen or so LTMs, some of these may be more straightforward (e.g. along the lines of Sniper Shootout, Sneaky Silencer etc.).

“We also use LTMs to test new Shooting Models.”

In other Fortnite news, fans this week have noticed that a new Jetpack item is being teased for the hit PS4, Xbox One and PC game.

At the top of the update screen fans yesterday started to see an entry for a new jetpack item that was labelled as “coming soon”.

Not much else is known, apart from the item’s design and that it will let players “take the fight to all new heights”.

At the moment players are not sure if the legendary item will purely be for cosmetic purposes or have an actual in-game use.

If it’s the latter, the possibilities it opens up are huge – with new ways for players to escape from battles or launch aerial attacks.
