Xbox One news: Forget PS Plus, Xbox Games Pass March 2018 releases are AMAZING

Games Pass subscribers are in for a treat in March 2018.

Microsoft has announced the March 2018 Games Pass releases, which include Sea of Thieves and Rise of the Tomb Raider.

It’s all part of Microsoft’s new initiative to make first-party games available for Games Pass at launch.

“On January 23 we announced a major expansion to Xbox Game Pass that underscores our commitment to deliver our fans the ultimate gaming membership – by launching all new Xbox One exclusive games from Microsoft Studios into Xbox Game Pass on the same date as their global release,” Microsoft explains.

“And we are incredibly excited on March 20 to bring critically acclaimed Sea of Thieves to Xbox Game Pass members the same day as its global release.”

The other new Xbox Games Pass releases will join the service on March 1.

Other new Xbox Games Pass releases include Super Lucky’s Tale and Resident Evil Revelations 2.

That’s on top of the likes of Oxenfree and Mega CD classic Sonic CD.

“In March, Xbox Game Pass members can also look forward to Rise of the Tomb Raider, Super Lucky’s Tale Resident Evil Revelation 2, Oxenfree, Sonic CD, The Final Station, and Euro Fishing coming to Xbox Game Pass March 1, in addition to over 100 more great games included in your membership.

“Plus, tune in to Mixer on March 1, too and watch our favourite streamers get hands-on with the latest additions to the catalogue.”

Sea of Thieves is described as an “essential pirate experience” from the makers of Perfect Dark and Banjo Kazooie.

“Sea of Thieves is the essential pirate experience, from sailing and fighting to exploring and looting – everything you need to live the pirate life and create all-new legends,” reads the official description.

“With no set roles, you have complete freedom to approach the world, and other players, however you choose.

“Whether you’re adventuring as a group or sailing solo, you’re bound to encounter other crews in this shared-world adventure game – but will they be friends or foes, and how will you respond?”

Sea of Thieves is currently available for £49.99 from the Xbox Store. Microsoft’s Xbox Games Pass, on the other hand, costs just £7.99 a month.
