The Greatest Showman soundtrack album is UNSTOPPABLE: Still Number One in UK midweek chart

It’s already been at the summit for seven weeks and is currently tracking towards an eighth, according to the Official Charts Company.

Today’s sales flash shows it in pole position, ahead of a group of artists benefitting from post-BRIT Awards surges.

Due Lipa’s self-titled album is in second, Ed Sheeran’s immovable Divide is in third, Rag’n’Bone Man’s almost year-old Human is at No4 and Stormzy shoots up to No5 after winning British Album of the Year.

Last week bookies shortened the odds of The Greatest Soundtrack OST ending 2018 as the year’s biggest-seller.

“The Greatest Showman On Earth has had the last laugh, despite receiving a lukewarm reception from the critics,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

“It is a box-office hit that could end up with an Oscar and the biggest selling album of the year.”

They currently list odds of 6/5 that the album will close 2018 as the country’s No1 for the twelve-month period.

Furthermore, Keala Settle’s This Is Me – the most popular track from the film – has odds of 6/4 to win the Oscar for Best Original Song.

That makes it second-favourite overall, with Coco’s Remember Me (4/7) the current odds-on one-to-beat.

The Greatest Showman is still in cinemas – well over two months since its debut; dramatically outdoing expectations.

Settle has been confirmed to be performing This Is Me at the Oscars.

The Greatest Showman is out now.
