Red Sparrow: Jennifer Lawrence speaks out on nude scene – ‘It’s my body and it’s my art’

The actress has been asked numerous times about the naked moment, as she promotes the spy thriller around the world.

Speaking to Bill Whitaker on 60 Minutes, she alluded to the massively controversial naked photo hack that saw her personal photos distributed online.

“I feel like something that was taken from me, I got back, and am using in my art,” she said.

“It’s my body and it’s my art and it’s my choice. And if you don’t like boobs, you should not go see Red Sparrow.”

She added: “The fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebody’s mind is to make a profit from it. It’s so beyond me.

“I just can’t imagine being that detached from humanity. I can’t imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside.”

The leak happened in the summer of 2014 and involved almost 500 private pictures of various stars, most prolifically Lawrence.

Red Sparrow has received mixed to positive reviews from critics, and will land in cinemas at the end of this week.

Based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Jason Matthews, it stars Lawrence as a Russian spy who falls for a CIA officer and considers becoming a double agent.

Joel Edgerton and Charlotte Rampling also star.

Red Sparrow is out on Friday.
