The Canary Wharf Classic is celebrating its 15th anniversary with record prize money of $100,000 and a top-class draw led by Egypt’s world champion Mohamed ElShorbagy.

His brother Marwan, who he beat to win the world title in Manchester in December, is seeded three behind another stylish Egyptian, Ali Farag, who won the 2017 US Open.

Six-time winner Nick Matthew is seeded four and will be aiming for one last blaze of glory as he nears the end of his farewell season on the PSA World Tour.

Matthew, who has won both the World Championship and British Open three times, claimed his 10th National Championship in Manchester last weekend before flying off to compete in the Windy City Open in Chicago.

The Team Dunlop star is still producing phenomenal squash at the age of 37.

His long-term rival James Willstrop, who he beat again in the National final, will be looking to add to his four Canary Wharf titles, with competition from German “Tree Chopper” Simon Rosner, who claimed the biggest triumph of his career in the recent Tournament of Champions inside New York’s Grand Central Station.
