BREAKING: Papua New Guinea struck AGAIN by huge earthquake amid ‘Ring of Fire’ CHAOS

The 6.4 magnitude quake was recorded 142km from the city of Mount Hagen at a depth of roughy 10 km, according to US experts.

Yesterday’s 7.5 magnitude quake cut communications as well as gas and oil operations in the country after causing destructive landslides.

Papua New Guinea rests on the so-called ‘Ring of Fire’ – a hotbed of seismic activity surrounding a tectonic plate that spans the pacific.

ExxonMobil Corp said it had shut its Hides gas conditioning plant on Sunday, close to the epicentre of yesterday’s quake, to look into what damage had been caused.

ExxonMobil’s PNG spokeswoman said: “All of ExxonMobil PNG Limited’s employees and contractors at its Hides facilities have been accounted for and we are pleased to report they are all safe.”

PNG oil and gas explorer Oil Search also said they had shut their production outlet.
