Finding Your Feet review: Imelda Staunton and Celia Imrie steal the show

Inevitably Sandra finally learns to live a little, especially when she is persuaded to join a local dance class where fellow members include handyman Charlie (Timothy Spall), widower Ted (David Hayman) and the much-married Jackie (Joanna Lumley).

You can see exactly where Finding Your Feet is heading.

The comedy is a little obvious and lazy, showing older people struggling to use mobile phones or getting giggly when they smoke a joint.

But the drama really tugs at the heartstrings as poor Sandra learns a few valuable life lessons.

There is even a trip to picture-postcard Italy as the dancing pensioners are invited to perform in Rome.

The cast lend charm to this feelgood fairy tale and Celia Imrie is especially good as the inspiring Bif.
