FIFA 18 Upgrades REVEAL: Ratings Refresh release confirmed for TODAY

It’s been a long time coming, but it appears fans will soon know exactly what’s changing in FUT.

The official FIFA 18 Winter Upgrades are set to be announced later today.

EA Sports confirmed the news on Twitter, posting a teaser pick confirming that the new Rating Refresh will be dropping soon.

Looking to how things have been handled in the past, it seems likely that the new FIFA 18 upgrades will be revealed at around 6pm, GMT.

There’s a chance that EA Sports will drop a few announcements ahead of time, revealing a few players before the big announcement.

The development may also look to reveal new players in waves, posting new Ratings for stars based on what league they play in.

This was the format used in 2017, however, EA Sports do change things up so there’s the chance fans will see everything drop all at once today.

As fans will likely already know, the FIFA 18 Winter Upgrades permanently alter the stats of certain players.

High performing players will get a stats boost, while underperforming players will be downgraded.

Last year saw the updated ratings apply to new base items which are found in packs, although some existing In-Form versions of select players were also automatically updated.

The Express has been asking fans who they thought deserved the biggest Ratings boost, following their latest performances.

These are based around notable players, and it should be noted that not all possible players were included.

And having seen over 6,000 votes, fans have overwhelmingly chosen Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah as the front-runner.

59% of those who took part chose the forward as the player they thought deserved the biggest FIFA 18 upgrade.

Fans have been able to influence this year’s Ratings Refresh, courtesy of a recent questionnaire.

“Who do you think deserves a Ratings, Weak Foot or Skill Moves upgrade in FIFA 18?” reads a recent tweet.

The tweet included a link to a ratings refresh questionnaire. Fans can nominate a player and a new score.

FIFA 17 saw 50 players get an upgrade of sorts in the Ratings Refresh, so there’s plenty of room for others to make their mark.

There will also be FIFA 18 downgrades put in place, although it’s unclear just who might be chosen to head that list.

There were over 13 downgrades made in the Premier League in FIFA 17, while other changes were also made based on clashes with other kinds of cards.

In FIFA 17, Upgrades AND downgrades applied to new non-inform players found in packs. Non-IF players in your Club did not receive an upgrade or a downgrade.
