eBay: 50p coin sells for £510 – rare Olympic 50p swimming team coins are worth a mint

Rare 50p coins such as this Olympic swimming coin often sell online for large sums.

This coin was sold yesterday on eBay for a whopping sum of £510.

Seller “grace0509grace” said of the coin: “This rare Swimming Team GB Olympic 50p coin is on sale, still fresh and new.”

But what exactly is the 50p and how rare is it really?

Olympic 50p coins were released in 2012 when the world famous games were held in the capital city of London.

These coins are fairly rare, with some among them being in the top then rarest 50 pence pieces.

The aquatics 50p coins minted in 2010 have a scarcity rating of 11 out of 100, and one coin has a number of issues with minting errors.

However, the coin sold on eBay yesterday is not one of these coins.

This coin is the Team GB 50p coin, which was released ahead of the 2016 Summer Olympics.

It was designed by Tim Sharp and has the image of a swimmer with the Team GB logo about it.

However, this coin is not particularly rare. It is has a mintage of 6,400,000.

There are many more rare coins that sell for huge sums online.

Beatrix Potter 50p coins have also proved incredibly popular, and one recently sold for £250 online.

The silver proof coin, which came in its box, is one of 2,500 minted in 2016.

New Beatrix Potter coins are being added to the collection currently minted in the UK.

The Royal Mint have announced today that following Peter, Flopsy Bunny, Mrs Tittlemouse and a helpful mouse from The Tailor of Gloucester will all be available to purchase.
