Xperia XZ2 teased ahead of launch? Next Sony phone may include Galaxy S8 best feature

Sony will officially reveal their next Xperia smartphone next Monday at a press conference at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

And, with less than a week to go until the big reveal, there’s plenty of rumours and speculation about what’s to come from this popular brand.

Now, to add fuel to the fire, Sony has just teased a video of their next flagship on Twitter and it could give a glimpse of an exciting new feature.

The short video shows a hand with curved lines floating above it and many are speculating that the next Xperia will follow Samsung with an edge-to-edge screen that wraps around the sides of the device.

Samsung has been producing devices with this curved screen design for a number of years and fans have been desperately waiting for Sony to produce something similar.

There’s no confirmation if the Japanese technology firm is opting for this new look but we’ll find out full details on February 26.

Rumours are rife that the firm will a new premium smartphone during the show in Barcelona with the .

This top-spec smartphone looks set to feature a 4K HDR edge-to-edge display which could offer some of the best visuals we’ve ever seen on a phone

The camera could also be boosted with recent leaks suggesting a dual-lens rear system is finally coming to the Xperia brand.

Along with these new updates on the outside, the Pro is also expected to get some big upgrades internally with the inclusion of Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 processor.

This chip will not only boost performance to new levels but also make the Pro far more efficient with battery life expected to be vastly improved.

The 845 also allows much faster charging with devices running the chip getting a boost to 50 per cent in around 15 minutes.

The Xperia XZ Pro may not be the only device Sony unveils at Mobile World Congress 2018.

Although not confirmed, there’s been plenty of speculation that Sony will unveil another flagship called the Xperia XZ2.

It was originally thought this phone would arrive much later in the autumn at the IFA tech show but a recent tweet from .

The tweet, which has since been deleted, came in response to a customer asking if the popular operator would stocking Sony’s new mid-range Xperia XA2.

The reply said: “We won’t be ranging the XA2, but will range the XZ2 which will be coming soon.”

Three has since said the tweet was posted in error but it could give us an indication of what’s to come in the weeks ahead.
