Queen Letizia wears VERY fashion forward cape dress for awards ceremony in Spain

Queen Letizia of Spain, 45, attended the National Sport Awards in Madrid, Spain today.

Joining her husband King Felipe, 50, Letizia handed out trophies to Spain’s leading sportsmen and women.

The mum-of-two chose a flattering khaki green colour dress for the occasion, which had a simple slim-fitting cut and three quarter length sleeves.

But the dress did not stop there, and had an unusual cape over the top of it.

The whole outfit came down to Letitia’s knees, and she kept her legs bare.

She completed the look with a pair of cream and black snakeskin court shoes.

A pair of green and gold stone drop earrings could be seen in her ears.

Keeping her makeup simple, Letizia wore a neutral lipgloss and brown eyeshadow.

Queen Letizia has been busy in recent weeks, and has made sure to show off her style credentials while representing her country at various events.

For a meeting in Madrid last week, the Spanish royal wore a grey and orange striped coat which she paired with a matching orange pencil skirt.

She added a splash of colour with a vibrant orange-red top which could be seen under the v-neckline of the coat.

Letizia chose neutral accessories to go with her look, wearing a pair of nude court shoes on her feet.

Famed for her sleek style, the Queen of Spain recently tried out a monochrome look.

She attended the Princess of Girona awards in Merida, Spain earlier this month.

The royal chose a chic monochrome look for her trip out, and the slim fit trousers and white blazer showed off her slim figure.

The black trousers, which had a crease at the front, featured silver button detailing down the sides.
