James Bond 25: Christopher Nolan gives DEFINITE answer on directing rumours

Nolan gave a definitive answer on the subject during a recent radio interview – and it’s bad news for anyone hoping he’d jump aboard.

“I won’t be the man,” he told Desert Island Discs.

“No, categorically.”

He added: “I think every time they hire a new director I’m rumoured to be doing it.”

Still, he seems keen to work on a James Bond movie at some point in the distant future.

“I’d love to make a Bond film at some point and I think those producers – Barbara and Michael – they do a tremendous job and Sam Mendes has done a terrific job the last couple of films, so they don’t particularly need me,” he mused.

“But I’ve always been inspired by the films and would love to do one someday.”

Yesterday it was reported that Ed Sheeran’s odds of recording the Bond 25 theme song have been slashed.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It’s probably one of the only things Ed Sheeran is yet to do, but rumour has it he’s already penned a theme song on the off chance he’s asked by James Bond producers to get involved – and the chances of that happening are getting slimmer by the day.”

Currently, the firm are offering odds of 7/4 for Sheeran to sing the title track.

Bond 25 is scheduled for release in 2019.
