Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date and Kingdom Hearts 3 update news

Square Enix has two huge releases that fans are hoping will both be dropping in 2018.

Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake release dates have not been confirmed, but remain highly anticipated titles.

And while news is still thin on the ground for both titles right now, the Square Enix games are still managing to stay in the limelight.

Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu recently released its new weekly charts, which covers the most highly anticipated game releases.

These are voted on by readers, who are still very much interested in both FF7 and KH3.

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake came in at no.1 in the poll, followed in second place by Kingdom Hearts 3.

It highlights just how anticipated both games are, with fans hoping for an update very soon.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake director Tetsuya Nomura recently shared some new details about the upcoming release.

According to Siliconera, fans who attended the 30th Anniversary exhibition were treated to some new screens.

Fans reported that the design of certain characters had been given a big refresh.

Most notably, Cloud’s design has changed – with it now looking much closer to the original design of FF7’s iconic hero.

A fan in the audience said Nomura and development leader Naoki Hamaguchi said: “While Cloud may look this way, he was a dork. I believe those of you who played the the original would understand what I mean by saying he’s a dorky character.”

One fan said that Biggs looked “super handsome,” Wedge was described as “refreshingly chubby” and Jessie as “cute”.

Square Enix is unlikely to share the new screenshots for a while.

The worry now is that the redesigns will push the Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date even further back.

Other reports suggest that the first episode of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be released in early 2019, so maybe we’ll see more at E3 2018.

Speaking of release dates, there’s much better news for Kingdom Hearts 3 fans.

A new report suggests that the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date will be revealed at E3 2018.

This is based on a Japanese Square Enix Twitter fan page that marks the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date for an E3 reveal.

A Gamespot report also sheds some light on the development of the game and how many people are working on it.

The report says that everybody in the company’s Osaka studio is working on the game, plus 100 people from the Tokyo studio.

The early phase worlds are said to be 90% complete, while the middle section is at 60%.

Director Tetsuya Nomura also said that the new game would contain a surprise new element that he’s always wanted to put in Kingdom Hearts.

Kingdom Hearts 3 has also been given a bumper new gameplay trailer (above).

The new Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer was unveiled at the recent Disney D23 event in Tokyo.

The video features the first look at the Monsters, Inc crew, as well as Disney favourites like Rapunzel and the Little Mermaid.

The gameplay trailer also showcases the spectacular combat system and over-the-top special moves and abilities.

According to Square Enix, players will once again be able to pilot the Gummi Ship.

Gummi Ship sections will be split into two phases for combat and exploration.
