Winter Olympics 2018: WATCH shocking video as skier WIPES OUT photographers in crash

After seeing multiple alpine skiing events delayed due to adverse weather this week, Gut finally had her chance to impress in the Ladies Giant Slalom on Thursday.

However, it took just 17 seconds before her run was over.

Gut appeared to catch one of the gates with the tip of her ski, causing her to take a tumble.

The 26-year-old consequently started hurtling across the course and crashed into a crowd of photographers who desperately tried to escape her path.

“No, I‘m OK, I‘m OK. I asked the photographer if he was OK too and he said he was. I think it’s getting scary to be a photographer on skiing hills,” Gut joked later with reporters.

“I think I just went a little bit too early on my inside ski but it’s not something new that I‘m struggling a bit in GS (giant slalom) this year.

“My Olympics aren’t over after 17 seconds. I’ll be back racing again on Saturday.”

Gut won the bronze during the downhill in Sochi four years ago and later became the first Swiss woman to win the World Cup title since Vreni Schneider in 1995.

She has since struggled to regain full fitness after sustaining a keen injury but still currently tops the World Cup super-G rankings and lies seventh in the downhill.
