Avengers Infinity War: Marvel boss EXCITED for ALL-FEMALE movie says Thor Ragnarok star

After a decade of Cinematic Universe movies, the first solo film led by a black actor, Black Panther, and a woman, Captain Marvel, are now made and being shot.

Now Thompson, who played Valkyrie in Thor Ragnarok, says an all-female led Marvel movie could be on the horizon for Phase 4 of the franchise.

Speaking with IGN, she said: “I think [Marvel boss] Kevin Feige is really excited by the idea.

“And if you look at what’s happened already in Phase 4 with me and Valkyrie and our story, and then in Black Panther the women rule supreme.”

The actress added: “There’s an interest – they’re doing Captain Marvel, they’re doing a Black Widow – there’s an interest in having women at the forefront of this phase. I feel like it’s hopeful, who knows.”

Thompson has previously pitched an all-female film to Feige, alongside Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Pom Klementieff (Mantis) and Karen Gillan (Nebula).

Speaking with CBR, she said: “That’s the thing that’s so fantastic about Kevin is you always get general interest from him.

“At least when you start speaking, and then you might get 10 minutes in, and you sense that maybe something is not as exciting.”

Thompson added: “But no, he’s really open to collaboration and wants to hear what we’re interested in.”

Avengers Infinity War will be released in UK cinemas on April 27, 2018.
