It’s only a small bump, but data from NHS England has shown that there is a rise in conceptions around 14 February.

An analysis of data from 2015 found that, in an average week in England, 15,427 babies are conceived. But in the week around Valentine’s Day, this figure rose by 5 per cent, to 16,263.

Love seems to linger in the air for a little longer too – the following week, more than 16,300 babies were conceived.
