Jurgen Klopp drops MAJOR team selection hint for Liverpool clash against Porto

The Reds boss has chopped and changed between Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet all season but has most recently gone with the former as his starting goalkeeper.

Karius has been given the nod in all but one of Liverpool’s Premier League matches so far in 2018, and has kept five clean sheets in eight top flight matches this campaign.

He received praise after a couple of crucial saves in the 2-0 win over Southampton this weekend.

But heading into tomorrow’s Champions League last-16 tie against Porto there was question marks over whether Klopp would revert back to Mignolet.

The German coach recently claimed he has no first-choice goalkeeper at Anfield.

However, he has hinted that situation has now changed by suggesting Karius will remain in goal for the Champions League first leg.

“To be honest I have not made the final decision but it is not the same situation as it was,” Klopp said.

“A good one will play. But I haven’t made the decision so far.”

Mignolet claimed last month the current situation at Liverpool regarding the rotation of goalkeepers is “not a healthy situation”.

That led to speculation he could seek a move away from Merseyside in the summer with Roma’s Alisson rumoured as a potential replacement.
