Destiny 2 Crimson Days COUNTDOWN: Event start time, date, server maintenance, Hotfix

2 players are counting down to the start of the Crimson Days event for Valentine’s Day.

The Crimson Days Valentine’s event has been given a February 13 release date on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

But fans will have to wait for scheduled server maintenance to end first.

Destiny 2 will be taken offline at 4pm UK time, although players can continue playing for another hour if they are already logged in.

Players will be kicked out of in-game activities at 5pm UK time, and unable to login until maintenance ends at 8pm GMT.

The maintenance will be followed by the release of Hotfix 1.1.2.1 and the release of the Crimson Days event.

Running for a week, the event will be headlined by a 2-vs-2 Crucible playlist, complete with a returning map and a “round-based twist”.

The Burnout map is described as a new take on The Burning Shrine map from the original Destiny.

The twist is the The Burnout map takes place in a future timeline where the Vex has altered reality.

“The sun is darkened and the only Light to be found comes from you and your partner fighting as one,” reads a Bungie blog post.

“Stay in close proximity to your partner and your abilities recharge at a faster rate. Stray too far, and your enemies will be given a waypoint leading to your location.

“If you can’t find a partner, don’t worry. We’ll play matchmaker and find one for you.”

Bungie claims that the best way to earn rewards is by competing in the Crimson Days Crucible playlist.

“Most rewards are found within a new Crimson Engram, with all contents on a ‘knock-out’ list, preventing you from receiving duplicate items until you’ve earned all of the new gear,” Bungie continues.

“No matter which activity you play in Destiny 2 during Crimson Days, every player will receive both an Illuminated Engram and a Crimson Engram when they level up.

“Crimson Engrams are only earnable through gameplay, and are not capped or limited during the event.”

To qualify, Guardians must have reached the game’s level cap of 25 with the recent expansion, or 20 without the DLC.

Anybody who completes the Nightfall Strike during the event will also unlock the Flaunting Dance Emote.

You can also pick up Crimson Engram contents by handing over Bright Dust to Tess.
