Galaxy S9 and S9+ leak reveals the major difference between Samsung’s new flagships

Samsung’s big launch event will take place in less than two weeks time at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The Korean technology firm is expected to reveal two devices at their Unpacked event on February 25 with an S9 and larger S9+ both rumoured.

Now a new leaked image spotted on WinMobile shows why the larger S9+ could be the phone to own.

There’s already been plenty of speculation that the S9+ will feature a dual-lens camera and these new images appear to prove this is true.

The photos, posted online, reveal a set of new protective cases for both of Samsung’s next flagships and you can clearly see a much larger cut-out for the dual camera on the S9+.

The pictures also show a case for the standard S9 which has a much smaller gap for a single camera.

With the S9+ looking set to get a dual camera, this device will clearly be able to add DSLR-style depth of field to images – something the standard S9 may not be able to copy.

Samsung has been teasing some big changes coming to the photography on its smartphones with a recent invite stating: “On February 25, Samsung Electronics will showcase the next generation of Galaxy devices that reimagines the camera and redefines the way you share your moments.”

It’s thought that the S9’s camera will be better at taking images in low light and also offer a much faster shutter meaning blur-free photos.

Other features could include a super slo-motion mode which looks set to give the S9 and S9+ the same abilities as Sony’s new Xperia devices which can shoot footage at over 900 frames per second.

Along with the new cameras, these latest images clearly show that Samsung will be moving the fingerprint scanner to much more convenient position in the centre of the device.

This should make it far easier to use this sensor without covering the lens in mucky fingerprints.

Along with the new camera and updated design the devices are also expected to feature a swathe of improvements over its predecessor.

These include a much faster processor which will mean the S9 series is likely to be the most powerful smartphones to date.

This new chip will also make these latest devices much more efficient and capable of charging faster when the battery runs dry.

Sadly, all of this new technology could come at a high price with the S9 and S9+ expected to cost around £100 more than their predecessors.

This could mean the S9 will have a price of over £780 and the S9+ could push through the £870 barrier.
