Real Madrid boss Zidane with huge update on Chelsea and Liverpool target Isco

A host of Premier League clubs including Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City are keen to sign the playmaker and have been monitoring his situation at Madrid closely.

Isco reacted angrily to being substituted by Zidane during Real’s loss to Leganes last month, fuelling rumours of his departure.

Reports emerged this week that Zidane felt as though Isco wasn’t replicating the form he showed last season and that he was open to the idea of selling the 25-year-old.

But speaking to the media ahead of his side’s home clash with Real Sociedad on Saturday, the Frenchman was keen to insist that Isco’s future lay at the Bernabeu.

“I want Isco to spend all his career here. That will not change,” said Zidane.

“He is a very good footballer, he has shown that, and can always show that, so the report is a lie.”

to be linked to Isco, with La Liga expert Guillem Balage claiming it was Real themselves who first raised the possibility of a Premier League move.

Chelsea, however, remain favourites to sign him if Eden Hazard moves in the opposite direction, claim the bookies.

Zidane is currently under a lot of pressure as Real boss with his side 19 points adrift of league leaders Barcelona.

The defending champions have already lost four times in the league and were also shockingly knocked out of the Copa del Rey by lowly Leganes.

Isco, meanwhile, has failed to nail down a place in the Madrid starting line-up despite his performances last season keeping the likes of Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema on the bench for large spells.

The former Malaga man has scored five goals in 18 league matches so far this season, but a lack of first-team opportunities may still see him heading for the exit door, despite Zidane’s supposed objections.
