Marcello Lippi’s former side Juventus take on Tottenham at the Allianz Stadium next Tuesday in the Champions League round of 16.
He has warned the Serie A club to expect a stern test against Spurs, similar to last season’s clash with Barcelona.
Juve were knocked out easily by the Catalan side last term, losing 3-0 on aggregate.
And Lippi believes Mauricio Pochettino’s side possess many of the same qualities as Barca.
“Tottenham are a very good team,” Lippi told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
“In a way, it’s similar to last year’s Barcelona clash.
“Tottenham’s attack is magnificent but they are not as strong at the back.
“Juventus beat Barcelona 3-0 last season. Kane scores bags of goals, midfielders are able to make space and score goals and Pochettino is a very good young manager.”
However, Lippi is backing Juventus to come out on top and has tipped his former side to go all the way in the Champions League this season.
“Juventus, however, can create them troubles,” he added.
“Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern and City can win the Champions League just like Juventus.
“Juventus are there with the top European clubs. That was their main target.”
