Fortnite servers DOWN: Epic investigating fresh offline issues on PS4, Xbox One and PC

The Fortnite server status doesn’t make good reading for fans, as the game goes offline once again.

Independent website DownDetector, which tracks social comments around a certain topic to monitor outages across the globe, has mapped the problems.

DownDetector shows hundreds of Fortnite users experiencing connection issues, especially in the UK.

The problem is so bad that Epic has acknowledged the issue on Twitter, telling fans that it is working on a fix.

“Uh oh! Players may be experiencing problems logging in at the moment,” reads an Epic tweet. “We’re working on fixing this now and will get you back out there as soon as we can. Stay tuned for more updates on any of our social channels.”

It was recently revealed that Fortnite server issues might get worse before they get better.

Epic has revealed the surprising reason behind Fortnite’s recent offline server outages.

According to Epic, after hitting 3.4 million concurrent players on February 4, the Fortnite servers were unable to cope. The sheer volume of players caused six different incidents, resulting in varying levels of server problems.

And with the game becoming seemingly more popular by the week, it could be a while before server issues are a thing of the past.

Fortunately, however, Epic is working on a long-term solution to the server problems.

“Problems that affect service availability are our primary focus above all else right now,” reads an Epic blog post.

“We want you all to know we take these outages very seriously, conducting in-depth post-mortems on each incident to identify the root cause and decide on the best plan of action.

“The online team has been working diligently over the past month to keep up with the demand created by the rapid week-over-week growth of our user base.”
