PUBG news: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds update FINALLY solves major cheat problem

PUBG developer Bluehole has finally released the major new anti-cheat update on PC.

The delayed Battlegrounds patch introduces a whole host of new measures to stop players using cheat programs.

“In order to foster a healthy and fair game environment, we have applied a new update to the test servers, as part of our preventive measures against cheat programs,” reads a Bluehole blog post.

After taking the servers offline for extended maintenance, fans should now be able to access the game and download the patch.

“PC players, the connectivity issue that some of you have been experiencing is now resolved,” the company tweeted. “Once more, sorry about the delay in getting you back in game and thank you for your understanding.”

The new update also fixes a number of issues with the sound in the Red Zone.

PUBG fans can expect fewer simultaneous explosions, not to mention a more balanced sound.

Balanced the number of simultaneous explosion sounds, in order to optimize game performance

Fixed the issue where the explosion sound wouldn’t play following the falling sound of a bomb

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds update 8 tweaks the damage received by vehicles.

After feedback from fans, Bluehole decided to revert back to the old system of increased damage when hit by a vehicle.

Needless to say, the new Battlegrounds update also contains a host of bug fixes and gameplay tweaks.
