NBA trade rumours: Cavs have SEVERAL options to make move before deadline – reporter

Kevin Love is set to miss the next six weeks after suffering a hand injury at the end of last month.

Cleveland were likely to enter the trade deadline looking for extra pieces to help their championship credentials but Love’s knock has only hastened their need for an extra body.

LA Clippers centre Jordan has emerged as their No 1 target while they are also considering a move for a defensive guard.

The Cavaliers are reportedly prepared to include Tristan Thompson in a deal for Jordan, but Windhorst claims they are yet to decide whether they are willing to give up the Brooklyn Nets’ unprotected first-round pick.

“From sources that I talk to, they have several deals that are sitting there that they can do,” Windhorst said on Live NBA Countdown.

“They haven’t decided whether they want to do them yet.

“There are teams out there that are waiting to hear back from them, ‘are we going through with this deal or not’.

“Maybe tonight they’re going to pull the trigger on a deal, we’ll see, but as of earlier today they still hadn’t decided on which trigger they were going to pull.”

He added: “The Cavs want to trade Tristan Thompson. The Clippers will accept Tristan Thompson, but not if the Cavs are attaching their pick.

“They want the Brooklyn Nets pick. They can do that and turn that trade if they are willing to include that Nets pick, but otherwise we’re not really negotiating.

“And if you’re the Cavs, DeAndre Jordan can opt out after the season.

“Are you going to trade the Nets pick with LeBron using the word right now?”
