The trilogy of erotic movies is well known for its many sex scenes, but Dornan has never bared all on camera.
There were previously rumours that he turned down an extra $1 million to go the whole way, but in a new interview with Elle he denied that was the case.
“That whole thing with offering more money to go nude? That didn’t happen,” he said.
“I don’t know if I said I wouldn’t [do it]. You see my arse quite a lot. That doesn’t really bother me.
“You see a lot of Dakota’s [Johnson] t**s. I would show my t**s if I had them.
“I just thought, ‘We don’t need to be flashing the rest if it’s not essential to the story’. We’re not making porn as much as people think we are.”
The actor had previously revealed that on the set of the movies, he was wearing only a tiny modesty pouch over his private area.
“On set I wore a wee pouch to keep everything in,” he said on The Graham Norton Show.
“I was given a selection – for size I guess – and when I found one that fitted I took it off and noticed inside a label that said, ‘Inmate number three’.
“Clearly it had been worn before! I just had to grin and bear it.”
He reprises the role of Christian Grey in the film, opposite Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele.
Fifty Shades Freed is out on Friday.
