The Overwatch Lunar New Year event will bring with it brand new Legendary skins as well as a fresh map for players to battle it out on.

Blizzard has confirmed the capture the flag mode will take place on the new Overwatch map as well as new cosmetics coming to Overwatch this week.

A Blizzard post said: “Lunar New Year returns to Overwatch.

“Players will have the chance to collect commemorative cosmetic items with Lunar Loot Boxes and work together to capture the flag on a brand-new map.”

The Overwatch Year of the Dog event will begin on Thursday February 8 2018.

Confirming the event previously, the official Overwatch Twitter account posted: “Wishing you prosperity in the Year of the Dog! Lunar New Year returns February 8.”

Blizzard has not confirmed a start time for Overwatch Year of the Dog.

However, past events have begun around 6pm / 7pm UK time, whereas for US fans it will kick off about 11am PT / 2pm ET.

Yes! Overwatch fans can expect a host of brand new, shiny skins for the Year of the Dog.

Unlike with previous events, no Overwatch skins have leaked in the days running up to it kicking off.

So far an end date has not been confirmed for the Overwatch Lunar New Year 2018 event.

However, in 2017 the Overwatch Lunar New Year Event – which was Year of the Rooster – lasted for around three weeks.
