Honor 9 Lite – Price, release date and specs of latest budget smartphone REVEALED

If your budget won’t stretch to a flagship smartphone there’s a new cut-price device from Honor that might take your fancy.

The Chinese smartphone maker has just announced the launch of its new Honor 9 Lite which includes some top-end features at a very low price.

For under £200 you get a glass design which Honor says uses a 12-layered process to give the phone a mirror-like effect.

There’s also a 5.65-inch edge-to-edge FullView HD Display and no less than four cameras, with the Honor 9 Lite featuring dual-lens 13MP and 2MP cameras on both the front and back of the smartphone.

These twin snappers allow users to add DSLR-style depth of field to photos – something you only usually find on much more premium phones.

Powering the 9 Lite is an ultra-fast 16nm octa-core Kirin 659 chipset and users can unlock the device via a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Finally there’s more good news as Honor will launch this latest phone with Android 8 Oreo included.

“As an innovative online smartphone brand for digital trendsetters, Honor has launched the stylish Honor 9 Lite phone to help people capture stunning images no matter the location or background,” said George Zhao, President of Honor.

“Offering a smooth user experience, a quad camera and an attractive mirrored surface, the Honor 9 Lite is not just a symbol of style, but a way to capture important life moments in a way that’s easier to navigate than ever before.”

If you want to try before you buy, Honor says it is hosting a public roadshow featuring the Honor 9 Lite, Honor 7X and Honor View 10.
